Coffee Wood Chew

Coffee wood is a safer, 100% natural alternative to sticks and other chews, being caffeine-free and free from chemicals or nasties. That said, no chew is completely risk-free. It's important to always supervise your dog, choose the right size for their mouth, and avoid giving it to aggressive or destructive chewers who quickly break down toys. Choose the right size. Select the best size for your dog. Bigger is better, choose a size that feels comfortably larger than your dog's mouth.

Not for every dog. Coffee Wood isn’t suitable for aggressive or destructive chewers that quickly break down (and even swallow) the toughest of toys. Avoid using with dogs that are obsessive swallowers of socks, balls, clothing, underwear etc. You know who you are…

Extra care for strong chewers. Take extra care with Staffies, Mastiffs and Retrievers. Only use under intense supervision.

Not for puppies. Wait until 6mths, or when they have their adult teeth.
Time it. Limit them to 30 minutes of daily chew time.

Keep it dry. Avoid leaving it in the rain and sun, as the wood may swell and crack.
Expect some variation. Because this is a 100% natural product, some of the harder exterior may be shed as flakes in the initial chew phase. It is normal, and any flakes or larger pieces can simply be removed and disposed of.

It's rare that any of the residue material is swallowed, but even if it is, the soft fibres (and even small flakes and pieces) are easily digested by your dog's stomach acids.

Because coffee wood is made up of densely packed fibres, it’s naturally made to go the distance. Over time, the fibres simply fray into soft, safe little brush-like ends. It’s time for a new one when your dog has chewed it down to a size they could accidentally swallow.

Bigger is better. Choose a size that feels comfortably larger than your dog’s mouth. As a guide, a medium suits dogs up to around 20kg. While large is ideal for bigger breeds up to around 40kg. If in doubt, always size up, it’s safer.

Nope! It’s completely calorie-free and doesn’t contain any additives or flavouring. The appeal is in the natural texture and the self-soothing chew your dog instinctively craves.

Even though coffee wood sticks are durable, they eventually wear down. It’s time for a new one when:
- It becomes too small, posing a choking hazard.
- Your dog has chewed it down to a size they could accidentally swallow.

We recommend waiting until your puppy has developed their adult teeth, which typically occurs around 5 to 6 months of age, depending on the breed. For puppies who are still teething and have baby teeth, we suggest opting for softer chews or toys designed for teething.
